Faye Reynolds, Executive Director of Women in Focus

Faye Reynolds, Executive Director

Faye lives with Stephen and their teen-aged daughters, Steffi and Teddi in Lethbridge, AB.  Coming up on 25 years of marriage, most of those years have been spent together in various forms of ministry within the CBWC.  Faye has primarily worked in the area of worship and music ministries in three different churches as well as the former Baptist Leadership Training School.  She was a school teacher before entering ministry and has used her educational training in preparing courses and Bible studies for Women in Focus.  She loves hiking, biking, and spending time with great friends.  She does some watercolor painting as a hobby but music continues to be her passion.

Sandi Smoker, President of the Board

Sandi and her husband, Gord, live in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island. They have three grown children and in 2011 celebrate 30 years of marriage as well as the birth of their first grandchild, Gabrielle. Sandi attended Capenwray Bible School and has a long history with Young Life, volunteering in her community and being involved at First Baptist in Nanaimo. She is currently a student at Regent College in the Christian Studies degree program and loves to learn. She also enjoys snow skiing, quilting, travel and the outdoors. One of her greatest joys is encouraging God's uniquely created daughters as they journey nearer to the heart of the Father. She is honoured to serve Women in Focus in exactly this way.

Professionally, Rosemary began her career as a high school teacher/counsellor, and then worked with Terry founding/publishing Island Christian Info Newspaper. Kathy Arthur, President of Saskatchewan Women in Focus

Kathy Arthur, President of Saskatchewan Women in Focus

My husband, John and I have three terrific young adult children and one son-in-law.  I have worshiped God at First Baptist Church in Saskatoon since I was 12 years old, except the year I attended BLTS.  I love to sew, take walks through God's creation, travel with my husband and plan women's retreats.  As team leader of SWIF, I'm enjoying the opportunities to meet and share with many Saskatchewan women.

Alicia Dykstra, President of Alberta Women in Focus

The Dykstra family imported the game of Kubb from Denmark while on one of their many travels together as a family. My husband, Terry, and I love to expose our kids, Lucy, Sebastian and Phil, to other cultures to learn new things about God and themselves. That's why we enjoy living in Calgary where the world lives in our neighbourhood. I marvel at the different colours that God created, be it in people or fabrics, and love bringing those colours together and expose their individual beauty.

Elizabeth Cooper, Communications; BC Member at large

Why me? I'm a recreation and tourism management student at VIU in Nanaimo who loves Christian camping ministry and is planning to continue in it after I graduate in 2013. When God opens up doors, I'm learning to say, "Ok, let's go". Last Summer that meant moving to Prince George to be the Assistant Wilderness Director at Ness Lake Bible Camp (and includes returning next summer as the Director). Now that means women's ministry. Las summer was the best ever (not easy, but brought me so much closer to God), so I'm looking forward to seeing how God works in this. Let's go!

Alice Sowden, Workshop Liaison; BC Member at large

My home is in Duncan, BC, with my husband, Norm, of 43 years. We have a daughter, Sondra, son-in-law, Jay, and three awesome grandsons: Lucas, Corbyn and Zackery.
I am blessed to have been involved with Gifted & Called and Empowered through Spiritual Formation since WiF started looking at how women in CBWC would benefit from these workshops, 12-step programs, working with women in recovery and through all of these witnessing many AHA moments . . . these truly are an ongoing gift from God. I also enjoy reading, writing, photography, listening to my grandsons tell me about their "life" or their favourite video game, and enjoying nature wherever I happen to be.
