CBWC Women in Focus

Our Mission is to encourage and equip women to discover and use their God-given gifts with confidence and compassion.

"to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11, 12

Friendship - to foster and nurture relationships; to teach, mentor and support women
Outreach - to touch women with the love of Christ locally and globally
Character - to provide opportunities for spiritual growth so that women will beconsciously God-indwelt, Christ-led and Spirit-gifted
Unity - to stand together as women in our common mission of bringing Christ to the world
Service - to bring awareness of community/social concerns and encourage proactive involvement

Psalm 51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."
This flower represents submission and brokeness before God as well as compassion. Women in Focus is a ministry of compassion - encouraging the women of our churches to be a compassionate people, looking to free the oppressed and right injustice.

Women in Focus partners with:
1. Canadian Baptists of Western Canada to encourage the unique ministries to and by the women of our local churches;
2. Canadian Baptist Ministries in Global Mission;
3. Canadian Baptist Women in joint projects such as the Great Canadian Bible Study and advocacy for global women's issues;
4. North American Baptist Women's Union on the annual World Day of Prayer each November in conjunction with the ministries of the Baptist World Alliance.
